Nalanda Educational and Charitable Foundation is organized with the lofty goal of promoting education.
Fundamental universal truth is:

We want that education by which character is formed, strength of mind is increased, the intellect is expanded and by which one can stand on one’s own feet.
Why Nalanda Charity?
“Nalanda” was one of the world’s first residential universities for higher education, set up in around 5th century in eastern India. Spread over 15 hectares of land, it housed 10,000 students and 2,000 teachers and administrative staff.
Our name “Nalanda” has been selected based upon this noble institution. It is our earnest attempt to live up to this name and to provide education to the most needy and deserving students.

Our vision is to be recognized as a center of leadership and strength for most deserving scholars of tomorrow.
Our mission is to be recognized as a leading resource for bright students and the advocate for right education for whoever wants to learn.

Game Plan
Our game plan for providing free education is:
- Select deserving candidates who want to study but lack financial resources. Initially, we will focus on Chicago area and vicinity. Eventually, we will expand our activities globally
- Adopt them for life (until they complete education) and provide for all financial assistance to them.
- Assist them in job location.
- Persuade them to adopt at least one more child, once they start earning. This will keep the “Nalanda” flame burning.
We have identified 3 schools and 28 students in the first phase of activities. These numbers are constantly being expanded to match higher level of donations.

Tax Considerations
Our institution has been registered in U.S.A., keeping in mind state and federal requirements for Income Tax exemption. We are approved under Section 501(c) of the United States Internal Revenue Code (26 U.S.C. and 501c).
